Very happy to say that the first animation based on one of my books is being premiered this weekend in London.
A full length 100 minute animation telling the story of the Kurdish people’s struggle and specifically the lifelong struggle of leader Abdullah Ocalan. And the extremely important democratic confederalism system that they are making there which is a model for resolving the problems in the Middle East/West Asia and a hugely important example of what real democracy looks like….The animation is based on our graphic novel of the same name, Freedom Shall Prevail. Written by myself in close collaboration with the international Kurdish support group, the international initiative, and with a wonderful art by a Kurdish artist, Keko. The book itself has done very well and come out in English German Kurdish Turkish and Arabic and I am very happy to see this animated version now, produced by Kurdish people.
