Information for Film Producers
I'm actively seeking for my comic books to be turned into movie versions. As you all know movie adaptations of comic books are common nowadays. Some of my comic book friends and colleagues have already had film versions made of their books. I think these books of ours below are especially suitable for film versions:
I'm actively seeking for my comic books to be turned into movie versions. As you all know movie adaptations of comic books are common nowadays. Some of my comic book friends and colleagues have already had film versions made of their books. I think these books of ours below are especially suitable for film versions:
![]() ANGEL OF THE WOODS Genre - supernatural/horror Logline/Premise - below Length - 90 minutes Country/city/of the story - North America or Europe Number of locations/sets - one key location. Logline A mysterious creature targets two young couples on holiday in the woods. One of them develops a strange connection to the creature, whilst the others are terrified. The story has already been successfully published as a comic book. The whole comic book story of this can be sent to you, in pdf form. Or a screenplay version also is available. I think Angel of the Woods has strong movie potential, as it has a clear central idea, on a subject that many are interested in, only 4 main characters, and few locations. Some remote wooded area would be suitable. Angel of the Woods has the classic 'attacked by a monster in the wilderness' theme, but expands on this to go into deeper mystical aspects too. |
![]() THE STORY OF LEE Genre - Romance/multi-cultural Logline/Premise - below Length - 90 minutes Country/city/of the story - Hong Kong/ US or UK Number of locations/sets - 1 major location each, about 7 sets. Logline A Hong Kong girl rebels from her strict father and begins a secret relationship with a western man. THE STORY OF LEE is a cross cultural love story spanning two continents, involving a western man, called MATT, who is a poet and a musician. A real band is involved in the story, THE CLIENTELE (who provided the opening song for the Keanu Reeves/Sandra Bullock film 'The Lakehouse'). LEE, of the story title, is a young Hong Kong woman who wishes to be free of the constraints of her strict father and narrow family life. The story has already been published in comic book form. In volume 2 of the story she leaves HK to be with Matt in his country. Volume 3 of the series is in production now and see further trouble arise between the two. The synopsis and whole 150 page comic book/manga story of this can be sent, in pdf form. Here is a link to volume one and two ( published by respected NY publisher, NBM - volume 3 coming in Feb 2019): https://seanmichaelwilson.weebly.com/story-of-lee.html |
![]() THE CONWAY CONNECTION Genre - Gangster (but a smart one, with cultural aspects mixed in) Logline/Premise - below Length - 90 minutes Country/city/of the story - London, Edinburgh, UK. Number of locations/sets - 2 major locations, less than 5 major sets in each. Logline By trying to financially help his grandmother, a young Scottish man gets in over his head with Irish gangsters/terrorists in London. Along the adventure he begins a loving relationship, steals a large amount of money; and finally resolves the life long tension between himself and his tough grandfather. The Conway story also has some comic book images available, to help visualise it. I can send these by email, if interested. |
![]() YAKUZA MOON
This is a manga adaptation we did, with Kodansha in Japan, of the real life story of a yakuza gangsters daughter in Osaka and Tokyo. A documentary version was made on TV in Japan and was very successful. A producer in the US is currently considering this for a movie version based on our manga. "At once heart-rending and eye-opening, this true-life memoir is a shocking yet intensely moving first-person account of one woman’s experience of growing up in Japan’s yakuza society.Born into the family of a wealthy crime boss, Shoko Tendo lives her early years in luxury. But labeled “the yakuza kid,” she soon becomes the victim of bullying and discrimination from teachers and classmates at school, and of her father’s drunken rages at home. As her family falls into debt and her father’s influence wanes, Tendo falls in with the wrong crowd, and other men begin to appear in her life. By the age of fifteen she is a gang member, by the age of eighteen a drug addict, and her 20s are marked by a series of abusive and violent relationships with men." http://seanmichaelwilson.weebly.com/yakuza-moon.html |
THE GARDEN.
A STORY OF GROWTH AND HEALING THROUGH MINDFULNESS AND GARDENING BY TWO HIGHLY ACCLAIMED CREATORS.
Quiet and meditative, The Garden is a story of growth and healing through mindfulness and gardening. It centres on Joanna, a British businesswoman who’s been signed off work from a high-powered finance job following a breakdown. Seeking more than just something to pass the time, she travels to Japan to immerse herself in zen gardening and meditation before returning home to nurture her own Japanese garden – and her soul.
This book has its origin in a ‘non-comic book reader’ who i was trying to turn onto comic books asking me ‘well, are there any graphic novels on gardens?’…and me realising that i couldn’t think if any, so I better write one. So I did. Yep!
Fumio Obata has made the book come alive with some really wonderful illustrations. This may be my favourite book so far.
Liminal 11 publicatons April 2020.

BREAKING THE TEN
Genre - Drama/thriller
Logline/Premise - below
Length - 90 minutes
Country/city/of the story - US or Europe
Number of locations/sets - 1 major location each, about 7 sets.
Logline
When David loses his wife and child in a tragic car accident he decides, in anger at the cruelty of the event, to turn against God.
‘When David loses his wife and child in a tragic car accident he decides, in anger at the cruelty of the event, to turn against God. He sets out to systematically break each of the ten commandments, in order to both spite God and to get his attention! But will god respond? Two mysterious figures, Mr White and Mr Black, try to win David over to their side, the religious or the humanistic. Deeply sad in parts and comical in others, this modern story explores age old questions: Is there a god? And if there is, does he care about us?’
I think Breaking the Ten has strong film potential, as it has a strong clear central idea, on a subject that many are interested in, only 3 main characters and not so much locations. It has comedy and tragedy, light joking moments and moments of moving sadness. This story already exists as a 2 volume comic book, the first volume came out in summer 2016, the second came out in Feb 2018, to very good reviews. And a 90 page screenplay version is already written. I can send this as well as some pages of art for it to give you a better idea. Or a physical copy of the book can be sent from the publisher in NY. More can be seen on this web page:
